Go into Admin > System Configuration - Turn OFF Send Emails

Then turn it on when you want to send one out (kind of annoying but only workaround I know of)

    Hi Betty,

Actually there's a more comfortable way to do this.

In the sharing screen, just turn off the subscribing button (should be gray instead of black):

Omer correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't they still get a "dashboard has been shared with you email" using your proposed solution the first time they add them? I believe your solution would be to fix sending published report but they would still get an initial email saying they have been added to the dashboard.

    Hi Andrew,

They will get the initial email saying a new dashboard was shared with them, but they will not receive the  scheduled reports.

This feature would be very very helpful to us as well.  We have had an increasing number of requests to turn off any emails that don't actually have content (i.e share notifications).  Turning off email system-wide isn't a practical solution for us b/c sharers of dashboards do not have access to this switch, and flipping it would in any case impact many others using the system who may be trying to receive a scheduled report at that time.  I think a fairly innocuous way of implementing this would be to have more granular switches at the Admin level (turn off scheduled reports, turn off notifications emails, etc.)

There is a way around this but it involves mucking around with the files for the email templates as described in the post linked below. My main concern is that this is going to be reverted with each upgrade as the new files are replaced.

I tried the work around. What I found on version 7.1.3 is if you remove the user_created files, when you create a new user through the web interface, it will freeze up - almost as if it is trying to send the email but cant. The user does get created, but you have refresh to get rid of the create user window.

+1 on this request.  We'd love to be able to control whether an email gets sent, especially for accordion-type dashboards that aren't the primary dashboard of interest for the user.

We would also like to control not just this type but all email types. I believe that Sisense is already working on functionality like this for a near future release.

    +1 please & thanks.

This would be very helpful when a minor change has been made & a new (revised with the change) dashboard has to be published.  I would prefer a toggle where the default is to NOT send an email, and the toggle allows "send email to notify users of the share..."

I'd love to have the capacity to republish dashboards to viewers without notifying them by email but then also being able to schedule automated reported from certain dashboards weekly. Is this possible? Perhaps these could/should be separate features?
