Replacing Widgets with "No Result" with Custom Text

The best way to solve this problem is through a plugin. The idea is that whenever there is no result in a widget, an image is returned and a textbox that says no result. I wrote a plugin that deletes the image and pops in another image of your choosing. This is probably the cleanest solution, as I attempted to do this with a widget script / dashboard script, and I couldn't get consistent results. As a disclaimer, this solution works on a dashboard, but not during a PDF export.

    Here is the plugin link:

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Rose,

have a look here https://support.sisense.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/221228128-Replace-N-A-values-with-0-in-indicators, it is just for indicators, but should be a good start.

    Hi,

Have you got the same thing for pie chart widget ?

I tried your link and it doesn't work for this type of widget.

Thanks Elliott. That sounds like it will work great. Do you happen to know why many plugins won't work with PDF? Is there a method to force Sisense to run the widget and dashboard scripts prior to generating the PDF?

    Hey David,

The main reason is that the PDF export is run through a "phantom process" that pulls up the webpage and converts it to pdf to be exported. Unfortunately only around half the widget/dashboard events are triggered through this process, instead of ALL the events. Therefore these customizations are triggered off of events that are never fired in the PDF export process. The only way to get this to work is change the events of the customizations to ones that are fired during the pdf export. You could also wait some time for the pdf export to be rebuilt (which i'm not even sure if it is on the road map).

    Hope the plugin helps.

    Best,

    Elliott

Is there a way to do this for just one widget that's not an indicator? I like the plugin, but I don't need all my widgets across 30 some dashboards to display the information, just the one.
