This is kind of an interesting hack, but it would make a lot more sense to just support max/min dates natively in sisense since it's something you can do easily in every other query language that I'm familiar with.

Agree with JJ.  We really need MIN/MAX on dates and strings.  With this small feature we can do much much more with Sisense in a much more intuitive way.

I have this working for a Pivot, but unfortunately it is not working for a Table With Aggregation.  Any ideas?

I can now use max on the DateNum and have a column in the Values … but how can I format 20200409 as 2020-04-09 ?

I need the date to be present in the values not in the Row.

    Hi Scott,

There is a script doing what you are looking for in this support entry :

    https://support.sisense.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/221227248-How-To-Calculate-The-Maximum-Minimum-Date-Per-Categoty

Did not try for a long time, but this kind of script should be version upgrade proof, so should work whatever version of Sisense you are using.

    Best, David.

    Hey Scott Sutherland

It is enough to apply the filter on the INT DateNum field, and place the actual date field in the pivot, as they have a 1 to 1 relationship.

Let me know if I can further clarify,

    Always here to help :)
